6.4 Plain Text

InqScribe can import and export plain text files. These files are encoded using UTF-8 by default.

You can find general guidance for importing and exporting data elsewhere.

6.4.1 Importing Plain Text

Plain text files are imported into your transcript with no modification (other than making sure any timecodes are converted to your transcript's current frame rate). Note that the Speaker Delimiter and Place Timecodes on Separate Lines settings does not apply to plain text, because plain text is not imported as a set of records.

6.4.2 Exporting Plain Text

Exporting as plain text creates a text file containing the exact contents of your transcript. You have the option of filtering out the timecodes.

Note that in some cases, it's easier to copy and paste the text of your transcript instead of exporting as plain text.
