System Requirements
InqScribe runs on virtually any recent macOS or Windows system. If any requirements are missing, InqScribe will notify you and show you how to install them for free.
InqScribe is compatible with the following operating systems:

Digital Media Support
InqScribe supports a wide range of digital audio and video formats, including the following common formats:
- H.263 and H.264
- MPEG, MPEG2, and MPEG4
- QuickTime Movies
- Windows Media formats (.wma and .wmv)
- AIFF, WAV, AAC, and MP3 audio
- Many AVI formats.
Please note that not all formats play on all versions of InqScribe due to changes in the media engines used across the different versions. Please refer to the "Which media formats can InqScribe play?" support article for specific formats.
InqScribe can access media files from your local hard drive, optical disk drive, networked file server, and the Internet.

InqScribe supports several timecode standards:

InqScribe can import data in the following formats:

Tab-delimited and XML formats are suitable for importing into database and other data analysis applications. InqScribe can parse your transcripts and automatically generate a series of data records, using embedded timecodes as record markers.
Unicode Support
InqScribe is Unicode savvy. All the data you create within InqScribe is stored (and exported) in UTF-8 format. Multiple languages can even be used within a single file!
